JUPITER, FLA – The John McDonald Company was one of only a handful of builders, developers, architects and others in the construction industry to receive a prestigious AURORA Award during the recent Southeastern Building Conference in Orlando.
The Jupiter-based company, known for its luxury custom homes, won an AURORA Award for a private residence in the Loxahatchee Club. The John McDonald Company won the award in the “Custom Home–One of a Kind” category for residences between $2.1 million and $3 million.
One of the themes of this year’s AURORA Awards, is the builders’ commitment to being “green” according to Ashley Jennings, 2008 AURORA Award chairperson. “Builders and utility companies, working together, reached new realms to make these homes environmentally friendly,” she said in an industry news release. “The AURORA awards are the Grammys of the home building profession. It symbolizes tremendous achievement, honor and distinction among building industry professionals.”
“The commitment to the environment was one of the primary reasons The John McDonald Company attended this years SEBC and the AURORA,” said Dennis McDonald, president of the company.
McDonald completed the green certification program given by the National Association of Home builders at the SEBC, which insures that John McDonald Company is dedicated to minimizing environmental impact and contributing to a sustainable environment.
“In addition to the design and the exceptionally high quality of the construction, we are continuing to make the luxury homes we build more environmentally friendly,” said McDonald.
“The AURORA Awards are not only a way to recognize the outstanding work done by those in the home building industry, but it also sets an extremely high standard for all of us in this industry, and we are very pleased to be honored by our peers for our work.”
The AURORA Awards recognized home building professionals in a 12-state southeast region.
